Peace in the pond
Today was for getting ready. Ready to face upcoming medical procedures that I have been avoiding. I recoil at the mere thought of more. More fear, more pain and not finding out that I'm okay. I can only turn it over to God and ask for peace, and He doesn't hesitate. He gives me His peace when I have none of my own. This place provides the calm that I so need.
Evening closed the door on the day with a grey cloud scudded sky. I watched the buzzards in dark silhouette as they glided silently to their roost in the highest Digger Pine tree on the ridge. Wild turkeys roost in the next tallest tree. A slight breeze is cool, but inviting. Night grows louder now that the pond has filled to it's brim and is host to joyful singing frogs. It is so soothing to fall asleep to the music of the night.
